WHO DOES JACK LAYTON THINK HE'S FOOLING?

OTTAWA - Today in Saskatchewan, NDP Leader Jack Layton attacked Liberal agricultural policies and called for changes to the Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization (CAIS) program. Looks like the honeymoon is coming to an end.

Despite Layton’s ranting and raving, Canadians have to wonder how important agriculture issues are to the NDP.

The reality: Layton left agriculture out of his $4.6 billion backroom budget deal with Paul Martin.

If Layton really supports farmers and their needs, why didn’t he push their issues and ensure they were contained in the Liberal-NDP budget? He sold his support to the Liberal government and got nothing in return for farmers.

Surely Jack Layton doesn’t believe he’s fooling anyone, especially Canadian producers, with his phony criticisms of the Liberal government. It is hypocritical of him to think Canadian farmers will overlook the fact he abandoned their interests when he sold them out to Paul Martin for a few months in the media sun.
