& Agri-Food Canada News Release DEADLINE FOR 2007 CAIS SIGN UP TO BE EXTENDED OTTAWA, Ontario – The deadline for producers to join the 2007 Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization (CAIS) program and pay the 2007 fee will be extended to November 30, 2007 while proposed changes to business risk management programs are under discussion. However, the 2006 program deadlines have not changed and producers are still required to pay their fee by April 30, 2007 to be eligible for the 2006 program. The CAIS program is delivered in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador and Yukon by the federal government. Producers in these provinces can contact the CAIS administration toll free at 1-866-367-8506. In Alberta, producers can call Agriculture Financial Services Corporation (AFSC) at 1-877-744-7900. In Ontario, producers can call Agricorp at 1-877-838-5144. In Québec, producers can call La Financière agricole du Québec at 1-800-749-3646.
